Yes, survivors may exhibit suicidal ideation. Surving violence and abuse is traumatic and extremely challenging.
It usually leaves the survivor with physical and emotional scars. It is always hard for the survivor to fight the negative thoughts that sometimes fill their mind because it is all they experienced for the duration of their abuse and violence.
When those negative thoughts don’t go away, the survivors get tired and feel drained. They have no one to talk to who understands them. They start to feel like they can’t go on living. Thats when the suicidal thoughts come in and take over.
